A proper beauty routine should include an exfoliation step, about once a week, for many reasons. Because exfoliating the skin of the face allows to deeply dislodge the impurities present (sebum, make-up, etc.). It helps eliminate dead skin, also called desquamation, associated with cell renewal. Exfoliation promotes skin regeneration, therefore have an effect on skin regeneration and healing. Massaging the skin of the face with beads also helps stimulate blood circulation, which benefits the skin tone and texture. It is important to note that plastic exfoliating beads are now banned because they are very damaging from an environmental point of view. Exfoliating your skin regularly can also allow products applied subsequently (serum, moisturizer, etc.) to be better absorbed, and therefore more effective.

The tri-exfoliating face mask helps to purify and exfoliate the skin by removing impurities. It makes the complexion more uniform and radiant, by reducing the irregularities present on the surface. With its triple exfoliating action, it will provide you with all the benefits of exfoliation, and much more!

The synergy of exfoliation

For efficiency, the tri-exfoliating face mask combines the power of three types of exfoliation: chemical, enzymatic and mechanical. Chemical exfoliation is done with molecules called organic acids, often extracted from fruits. These promote desquamation: the detachment of dead skin from the surface of the skin. This effect is produced by the decrease in the adhesion of coenocytes, the dead cells produced by cell renewal. The strength of the chemical exfoliation is adjusted according to the acid used, which can work more or less in depth as needed.

Enzymatic exfoliation is similar to chemical exfoliation in that it uses enzymes found in fruits. These proteolytic enzymes, which therefore break down proteins, cut the links between cells. This promotes the detachment of dead skin, and therefore desquamation. This type of exfoliation is gentler and works superficially, resulting in new, firmer, well-hydrated skin.

The last type of exfoliation is the best known: it is mechanical exfoliation. Performed using natural beads, the rubbing action promotes desquamation. Massaging the skin surface also promotes blood microcirculation and radiance of the complexion. Depending on the size of the grains, a more or less gentle exfoliation can be obtained.

The Omy tri-exfoliating face mask

This new exfoliating product is hypoallergenic, preserved with natural preservatives and formulated with 100% vegan and natural origin ingredients. Like all Omy products, it does not contain any silicones, perfumes, sulphates, parabens or PEGs. We love its thick texture, its soft and smooth finish and the fact that it is easy to rinse. The hibiscus extract it contains will help give the treatment a delicate and refreshing scent. Use weekly to achieve purified, glowing facial skin with tightened pores.

  • -The skin with imperfections, presenting acne scars or irregularities;
  • -Normal to combination skin, without inflammation (acne, dermatitis, etc.);

  • -In case of sensitivity or skin diseases (dermatitis, acne, eczema, rosacea, etc.).

The ingredients responsible for its effectiveness

Australian lemon caviar

Rich in citric acid, it is one of the ingredients responsible for the chemical exfoliation of the treatment. The compounds it contains promote desquamation, and is also known to increase the production of filagrin and involucrin, two molecules that induce the renewal of cells in the epidermis. Apple fruit acid complex

This complex extracted from apple is rich in several alpha-hydroxy acids. These molecules are often found under the name "AHAs" in chemical exfoliators. This ingredient contains several organic acids such as malic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid and citric acid. These fruit acids promote desquamation, improve healing, supporting epidermal renewal and increase skin hydration.

Cranberry Enzymes

Cranberry extract is recognized for its richness in phenolic compounds, a class of molecules with antioxidant power. These compounds help scavenge free radicals and prevent them from causing damage to cells. It also contains arbutin, a molecule used to treat hyperpigmentation disorders. The extract also contains a proteolytic enzyme which allows the exfoliation of the superficial layers of the skin, supporting desquamation. This ingredient is therefore responsible for the enzymatic exfoliation of the mask.

Jojoba beads

Jojoba beads are small particles with a regular spherical shape. They are responsible for the mechanical exfoliation, which they perform efficiently, but very gently. Unlike the plastic beads often used in the past in beauty products, they are non-polluting and biodegradable. The hydrogenation of jojoba oil makes it possible to obtain them. Jojoba oil is a vegetable oil with sebum-regulating and antioxidant properties, in addition to anti-inflammatory activity.

The other ingredients

Apricot kernel oil

Rich in oleic acid, better known as omega-9, apricot kernel oil strengthens the hydrolipid barrier. This is the thin film found on the surface of the skin and composed of water and oil. The phytosterols in this vegetable oil help to improve the firmness of the skin and vitamin A to boost its radiance.

Rose water

The cosmetic properties of rose water have long been known and valued in the industry. We think in particular of its anti-aging action and its hydrating power, as well as its ability to give radiance to the complexion. It also contains vitamin E, a recognized antioxidant agent.

Kaolin, also known as white clay

Kaolin, also known as white clay, has detoxifying properties that have been well established in the pharmaceutical industry. In the tri-exfoliating mask, it will help purify the skin by absorbing excess sebum, while reducing inflammation.

How to use it for optimal benefits?

The tri-exfoliating face mask is available in a 50 milliliter (ml) format. Keeping the product in an "airless" pot prevents the clay from drying out. It can be applied to the face with the fingers or the Omy silicone applicator, avoiding the eye and lip area. Given its exfoliating power, it is recommended to use it once a week, for a maximum of 10 minutes. For more sensitive skin, leave on for two (2) to five (5) minutes. Redness, tenderness or slight heating may be observed during the exposure time. This is normal, to a point. After the mask is rinsed off, Omy Mineral Aquifer Water can be sprayed onto the skin for instant soothing relief. It is strongly recommended not to expose yourself to the sun for up to a week after use. This is because exfoliation removes the top layer of the skin, which is rich in melanin. This forms naturally and protects the skin from ultraviolet (UV) rays.

The use of the tri-exfoliating face mask helps to improve the texture and grain of the skin. Thanks to an unprecedented exfoliation synergy, rediscover new, fresh and radiant skin. We hope you enjoy this product as much as we do, and that it will join your skincare routine. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or to ensure this is the right product for you.
