Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a highly stable form of vitamin C. Once in contact with the skin, enzymes in the skin convert this form of vitamin C into pure vitamin C, ascorbic acid.

Converting this ingredient to ascorbic acid allows it to exert the benefits of vitamin C, from fading the appearance of dark spots to minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.

Unlike pure vitamin C, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is oil soluble, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the skin. Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate works as an antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals that could damage skin lipids.
